Alexandrina Boyanova, Violin

 


Violinist Alexandrina Boyanova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in a family of musicians. She started her violin lessons with her father at the age of four.  Later she entered the National School of Music in Sofia, where she studied with Ekaterina Dramalieva, and graduated with highest honors. During that time Ms. Boyanova has won numerous violin competitions in Bulgaria and abroad, and has appeared as a soloist with St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra “Klassika” and Orchestra della Toscana among others.

 

For the past seasons, Ms. Boyanova has participated in master classes given by Devi Erlih, Sergei Kravchenko, Oleh Krysa, Jaime Laredo, Maria Radicheva, Aaron Rosand, to name a few. Since November of 2004, Ms. Boyanova has established a coveted collaboration with Maestro Salvatore Accardo, by regularly attending his ‘Corsi di perfezionamento’ in Cremona and Accademia Chigiana.

 

In the summer of 2006, Ms. Boyanova was invited to perform with Maestro Accardo, Bruno Giuranna and Antonio Meneses in a chamber music concert, featuring Sextet for Strings No.2 by Brahms. This was followed by an invitation for a recital during 2006/2007 season of ‘Talenti Chigiana 2006’ in Siena, Italy. In May 2007, Ms. Boyanova was featured in the concert ‘Music treasures of Bulgaria’ at Weill Recital Hall of the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City.

 

Recently, Ms. Boyanova was invited to CSU Summer Arts Chamber Music Festival. Immediately after, she received the special scholarship of Maria Radicheva for participation in the festival ‘Violins in Valencia’, led by Maria Radicheva, Anabel Garcia del Castillo and Alexander Detissov. As a full scholarship recipient at ‘Accademia Chigiana’, Ms. Boyanova attended the master class of Maestro Salvatore Accardo, and was honored with ‘Diploma di Merito’. Currently, Ms. Boyanova is under the tutelage of the world renowned Maria Radicheva at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
