Robert Lanzetti, Guitar

Guitarist Rebert Lanzetti began playing guitar at the age of 12. Within two years he was already giving public performances. Mr. Lanzetti’s father, who was also a musician, exposed him to variety of styles of music from a very early age as well as gave him the opportunity to perform with his band. These experiences proved to be an invaluable step in Mr. Lanzetti’s growth. By the age of 19 he had studied with some of the top guitarists in jazz today as well as played regularly with his own jazz quartet.

In 2000 Mr. Lanzetti attended the prestigious University of North Texas where he had the opportunity to study with world renowned musicians such as Fred Hamilton, Dan Hearle, and Ed Soph among others. He also met many great musicians who helped shape his musical voice. While attending UNT Mr. Lanzetti worked as a professional musician in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He had the opportunity to play with Clyde Stubblefield of James Brown, Dave Fiuczynski, and members of Erykah Badu, Kirk Franklin, and Miles Davis’s respective bands. After a few years Mr. Lanzetti had already established a fruitful career nationwide. He frequently performed at Denton Jazz and Arts Festival, Wake-Up Festival, and a tour of Mexico with world leading bands. Mr. Lanzetti can also be heard on a number of different recordings. Most notably both albums of the 10-piece jazz/funk group Snarky Puppy, “The Only Constant” and “The World is Getting Smaller.” These experiences have helped Mr. Lanzetti become a well rounded player capable of playing just about any style of music.

Recently Mr. Lanzetti moved to Brooklyn, NY to be apart of the thriving NYC music community. Since, then he has performed in a number of venues throughout New York and New Jersey with many distinguished groups. He also held positions at the Guitar Studio in Berkeley Heights, NJ; Elefante Music in New Providence, NJ, and now serves as a guitar faculty at New York Music & Arts in Forest Hills, New York.
