Shannon
Rolbiecki,
Voice/Mezzo-Soprano

Shannon Leigh
Rolbiecki began performing at the
age of 6 when she made her
stage debut as a Munchkin in a
production of The Wizard of Oz. With
plans for a professional singing
career underway, she entered private
vocal training at age 14. Heavily
involved in musical theatre
throughout her teens and early adult
years she eventually changed focus
to develop her talents as a cabaret
and jazz singer. After years of
performing in the intimate cabaret
clubs of Manhattan, Ms. Rolbiecki
returned to classical singing in
2005. Since then she has performed
such operatic roles as Cherubino and
Marcellina from Mozart's Le Nozze di
Figaro, Speranza in Monteverdi’s
L’Orfeo, Ines from Verdi's Il
Trovatore, Marketeer from Paul
Salerni's new opera Tony Caruso's
Final Broadcast and several partial
roles including Octavian of Strauss'
Der Rosenkavalier and Arsace from
Rossini's Semiramide. Ms. Rolbiecki
is also an active recitalist having
most recently performed at the Helen
Bader Recital Hall in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. In addition to her work
as a soloist, she is an active
member of the a cappella quartet The
Newyorkettes.
Ms. Rolbiecki is a
student of the McCloskey technique
and shares this technique with her
own students, focusing on freeing
the voice from tension for healthy
and natural vocal production. As a
teacher Ms. Rolbiecki is able to
offer her students years of
experience in several different
styles of singing including
classical, musical theater and jazz
and a strong dramatic background.
