Shushi Hori,
Violin
Shushi Hori
began his violin study at the age of
3. His first public appearance was
at the age of 10, performed Mozart
Violin Concerto K218 with Suzuki
Festival Orchestra in Matsumoto
Civic Hall. At the age of ten, he
entered Toho School of Music
pre-college division in Tokyo. He
was regularly selected by school to
perform in various venues in Tokyo.
He was a finalist in the All Japan
Musical Competition for the Students
Tokyo division in three consecutive
years.
Later, Mr. Hori came to US to
continue his violin study at
Interlochen Arts Academy in
Michigan. He has studied with
internationally recognized teachers
such as Koji Toyoda, Kenji
Kobayashi, and Aaron Rosand. Mr.
Hori has performed in numerous
master classes by prestigious
musicians such as Julia Fischer,
Mikhail Kopelman, Victor Danchenko,
and Zakhal Bron. He has completed
his degree at Manhattan School of
music, where he studied with Isaac
Malkin.
